Kids Kayak Course (beginner)

This 2-day kayak program offers kids basic instruction in paddling technique and water safety while having fun in the Saugeen River watershed. This course is held in both Southampton and now new for this year in Tobermory as well!
In Southampton the first day will be held at a local beach on flat water to teach the basic skills,(this is the wet and wild day!). On day two with their new found paddling friends and abilities, they descend down an easy stretch of moving water on the Saugeen River where they might even try swimming in the current. Everything from paddling strokes to T rescues will be covered.

In Tobermory area first day paddling skills are taught in the warmer and sheltered waters of Cameron Lake. The second day depending on weather we may option for paddling out of Little Tub harbour in Tobermory for a short coastal paddle or return to Cameron lake and see if we can paddle through into Cyprus Lake.

Basic swimming skills required.
