Kids Canoe Course (beginner)

This 2-day canoe program offers kids basic instruction in paddling technique and water safety, all while having fun in the Saugeen River watershed.

The first day will be held at a local beach on flat water to teach basic skills, like gunwale bobbing and re-entry’s. On day two with their new found paddling friends and skills, they descend on an easy stretch of moving water on the Saugeen River where they might even try swimming in the current. Everything from paddling strokes to boat over boat rescues will be covered.

Basic swimming skills required.
